Thank you for your interest in the California OCD and Anxiety Treatment Center. As the founder of CalOCD, I (Kevin Foss) am passionate about seeing people gain freedom from anxiety. Through my education and over 10 years of experience treating OCD and anxiety, I have learned that help is out there, and you do not have to suffer alone.
Kevin Foss’s Bio

My OCD and anxiety treatment specialization journey began in 2008 at the Westwood Institute for Anxiety Disorders, an Intensive Out-Patient program in Westwood, California. While working with the Westwood Institute, I participated in designing and implementing customized treatment for the entire OCD spectrum in a 3-week focused structure. Following this, in 2012 I joined the OCD Center of Los Angeles, a private practice in Los Angeles. With OCDLA, I provided individual, intensive out-patient, teletherapy, family support, and group treatment for adolescents and adults.
My clinical specialization spans the full range of the anxiety spectrum. This includes all subtypes of OCD, such as Harm OCD, Washing and Checking, Homosexual (Sexual Orientation) OCD, Contamination, Moral and Religious Scrupulosity, Pure-O, and Existential OCD, just to name a few. Additionally, I treat Social Anxiety, Specific Phobias (heights, dogs, public speaking, etc), Hypochondria (health anxiety), and Body Focused Repetitive Behaviors (BFRBs) such as Trichotillomania and Excoriation. While I love treating all manifestations of anxiety, I have a unique interest in treating Scrupulosity, an OCD subtype pertaining to religion and morally.
In addition to providing clinical services, I am passionate about OCD education. I have lectured at the IOCDF National Conference, OCD SoCal Conference, and Trichotillomania Learning Center. Topics have ranged from exposure development for Religious Scrupulosity, Acceptance and Commitment Therapy, family-treatment integration, and the use of Habit Reversal Training (HRT’s) in Body Focused Repetitive Behavior (BFRB) treatment. In addition to my writing and speaking, I am the host of the FearCast Podcast, a question-and-answer based show dedicated to OCD and anxiety Treatment. I serve as a professional contributor to several public and private Facebook OCD support groups.
Finally, outside of my clinical interests, I am a husband, father, and dog-parent. When out of the office, I am usually found playing bass, hiking and backpacking with my family, going to Disneyland, or drinking coffee.
