I am passionate about creating a client-centered space and I strive to validate the experiences of those who choose to work with me. My focus is creating a culturally sensitive practice with a person-in-environment perspective. I find that when individuals are deeply understood they often find the motivation for change. Additionally, I understand the importance of implementing up-to-date evidenced-based practices.
My experience with OCD treatment began as a behavioral coach at the UCLA OCD Intensive Outpatient Program. Under the guidance of licensed clinical therapists, I conducted exposure and response prevention working with a variety of OCD subtypes. I attended weekly training to build knowledge of the OCD spectrum disorders including OCD, hoarding disorder, panic disorder, and agoraphobia. I graduated with my Master of Social Work from California State University, Long Beach, where I gained experience in a psychiatric health facility treating severe mental illness. I have also worked in community mental health providing therapy services to adolescents and adults in family, group, and individual formats.
In my personal time, I enjoy traveling and spending time with family. I am also an avid nature enthusiast and I try to get away to the mountains or the beach as often as I can.
